With some of the scheduled art shows behind me I am now working on a portrait commission and finishing up pieces for the Fifth Element show at Acme Art Studios, September 26.
I plan on showing my new painting Imaginary Bouquet of Flowers and John Lennon. Both are framed with oxidized steel, built by Carson Cram. The combination of the intense "superficial" acrylic colors framed by earthy rusty oranges is... exceptionally beautiful. I also plan on showing off some old work that relates to these newer pieces. Foundations I did not realize I would carry through to three years later. The Triangle paintings that head my website being one of them. A long evolution!
Here is the flyer. These are a group of nine women, including myself and my mom, the first time we will be showing together! My mom is extremely talented in watercolors and acrylics. We have similar styles but very, very different. It is interesting to see where the apple fell from the tree.
I am so proud to be apart of such a talented and experienced group of women.
Also I hung some old paintings (but good ones!) at Bottega at their new location on Princess across from Manna. The opening reception for that is on September 5th.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Annex show. That was a success! Thank you Thank you.
